EX Wives rehearsals  Task 1: This is our first recording of us rehearsing EX Wives. 07/09/22 In this recording, you can see that this was the first day we had leant the dance as it was still so fresh in our minds. At this point we had only learnt a short section of the choreography. Key features of Jazz   What is jazz dance?  Jazz dance is a style of dance which originated from the early 20th century. It began when African dancers blended traditional African steps with European styles of movement. The style of Jazz is very sensual and includes a lot of sexual movements including hip movements. These listed below are the key features of Jazz. Sensuality- This is when a dance or movement is made to look sexy by hip thrusting or buttocks action. It can also be a slow movement like a roll of the body or a stoke of a body part.  Low centre of gravity- When the knees are softened and bent, and the dancer is low and keeping balance.  Isolations- where a part of the body is sharply moved to a different place showing the contrast between 2 body parts.  Jazz hands- The extension of the performers hands with fingers splayed. This is often at the end of a dance for a sharp, strong ending.
